How ScrollEarn Payouts Work: Pending, Available, and Paid
This is a plain description of how money moves at ScrollEarn: where it comes from, what "pending" and "available" mean, and what happens after you request a payout.
Where the money comes from
ScrollEarn does not create money from advertising views or from subscriptions alone. When a member completes an action, such as a survey, an offer or another partner task, the partner behind that action pays ScrollEarn for it. ScrollEarn keeps a share to cover payment processing, fraud prevention, partner integration, hosting and operating costs, and pays the member the rest. The member's share is 62% on the Free plan and 75% on ScrollEarn Plus, the paid subscription tier. Those figures are stated on our About page and in our FAQ, and we use the same numbers internally.
A crucial consequence: members are paid from money that partners have actually paid ScrollEarn. We do not front money against promised partner payments. That has a cost, delay, and a benefit, that the balance you can withdraw is backed by cash that has arrived.
Pending versus available
| Status | What it means | Can you withdraw it? |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | The action is completed and credited to your account, but the partner has not yet paid ScrollEarn for it, or the partner's reversal window has not ended | No |
| Available | ScrollEarn has been paid by the partner, and your share has been released | Yes, once it meets the minimum |
| Requested or in review | You asked for a payout of your available balance; it is held briefly and reviewed | Already committed to that request |
| Sent | A staff member has sent the payment to your PayPal email or issued the gift card | Paid |
The reason for pending is practical. Partner networks can reverse a completion for a limited period, for instance when a survey is later disqualified for quality. In our own app, when a member's available balance is below the minimum but some balance is pending, the cash-out screen says the pending portion is still waiting and that partners typically pay within 30 days. That is a typical window, not a guarantee for any single completion.
How a payout request works
- You request a cash-out from your account. You choose a method and enter the email the payout should go to. The methods offered are shown on the cash-out screen; they currently include PayPal and gift cards.
- Only the available balance is paid out. Pending money is not included, since ScrollEarn has not yet received it from the partner.
- A minimum applies. The minimum is set in the app configuration and displayed on the cash-out screen. It is currently set at $5 by default, but check the screen because this can change.
- The request goes on a short hold. The default hold is 48 hours. During it, the request appears as pending while it clears review.
- Staff review it. Payouts are approved and sent by hand rather than by an unattended script. Accounts with an elevated risk score are put under routine review before payout, and you may be asked to contact support.
- The payment is sent and the payout is marked sent with a provider reference, so the record can be traced.
Only one payout request can be open at a time. A request for your available balance debits your balance and writes a matching entry in our ledger, so what you see in the app matches the records.
Why manual, and what that means for speed
Manual review is slower than instant automated payouts. We chose it because it reduces fraud, catches partner reversals before money leaves, and means a person has looked at each transfer. Expect the hold plus review time and then the provider's own delivery time. We do not publish an average payout time on this page. If you want to see what has actually happened, the payouts page reads live totals from our database, and states plainly when the figure is zero. We do not publish member or payout counts in our articles, because they change and because we only want to display figures that come directly from our records.
What can reduce or block a payout
- Partner reversals. If a partner reverses a completion, the corresponding credit is removed.
- Fraud signals. Bots, VPN farms, multiple identities and similar behavior can lead to suspension and withheld pending balances, as described in our Trust & Safety page.
- Balance below the minimum. The available amount must reach the minimum.
- Wrong email. Check the address carefully before submitting.
- An open request. A second request cannot be made until the first is resolved.
If you think a valid completion was not credited, contact support with the offer name and approximate time; we check with the partner, but the partner determines whether an action qualifies.
What we do not promise
We do not promise a level of earnings, an hourly rate, or that every offer credits. Amounts shown on offers are typical and depend on the partner and your account. Our earnings disclaimer and payout hold rules hold the official terms, which take precedence over this explainer. If anything here differs from those pages, the policy pages control.
